-year-old joshua mebane killed teresa bass. the teen is also suspected in the fatal shooting of a d.c. cab driver last week. now, d.c. police got a tip in the cab driver murder case from someone claiming joshua mebane lamingly shot and killed her while she was walking her dog on a trail with her husband in the hampshire neighborhood october 26th. her husband was also shot multiple time and survived with serious injuries. mebane lives in the same neighborhood with his parents. crime scene investigators searched the home this weekend and found a gun that was alongly used to kill teresa bass. >> it was ballistically checked for prints in prince george's county and ballistically it was a positive match with the shell casings and the ballistic rounds located at the crime scene. >> reporter: the teen was one of two 17-year-olds arrested last week for allegedly killing the d.c. taxi cab driver. they say he acted alone in the waldorf murder. detectives are trying to determine a motive. they say that mebane has hired a lawyer and won't comment on this investigation. he is uncooperative. and ch

teresa brill nearly died when her car flipped twice over a guardrail into oncoming traffic along busy highway 4. a good samaritan came to her rescue. she recalls he was wearing military fatigues and knew how to respond in emergencies. >> he turned to the front me of and talked to me and did a quick physical exam to make sure i could feel, make sure my hips weren't broken, made sure my spine was intact and he just talked to me and kept me calm when i felt like i was going to pass out when i was hyperventilating and really just not sure what was going on. >> reporter: she remembers he had bright green eyes. she says she remembers that detail because he told her to look into his eyes and keep talking and stay calm until paramedics arrived. when she got into the ambulance, he was right by her side. but she said then he just disappeared before she could say thank you. >> i mean, he was the person i needed when i felt like my whole world had disappeared.
